"...Art is a universal language that spreads beauty and unites peoples, contributing to bringing harmony into the world and silencing every cry of war." (16 Feb 2025)

The last time we were blessed to be in the presence of Pope Francis was during the 40th Anniversary celebration of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums. It was a moment of both reverence and joy—one we now hold ever closer to our hearts.

Pope Francis reminded us of the sacred responsibility we share: to preserve and protect the artistic treasures of the Vatican, not merely as artifacts of the past, but as living expressions of faith, humanity, and divine beauty. He saw in these works a bridge—uniting peoples across cultures, languages, and borders.

With deep sorrow and yet with belief in the promise of the Resurrection - we pray for the eternal repose of the soul of His Holiness Pope Francis (1936 - 2025). As we unite our hearts and cherish our many memories of this gentle pontiff, let us focus on his example of humility, gentleness and mercy, as well as his love and admiration for the joy, beauty and truth of art.

With profound respect and love,

The Italian & InternationalPatrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums
